FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

    Absolute disgrace. False advertising

Absolute disgrace. False advertising Boasted river and city views and had neither, brought this up with management only to be told they didn’t advertise this. Shower hot water scolded my shoulder and arm, how on earth do they not have safety valves on hotel.

Lots to see and do for everyone.

Lots to see and do for everyone. Weather was fantastic and if you have a car you can explore far and wide. If you have no car, walking or public transportation will get you to most places. I can highly recommend: Southbank - beautiful space for everyone to enjoy. Playgrounds for children, spaces to eat, exercise, relax or just enjoy the view. Northshore Eat City - fantastic atmosphere, exceptional variety of food, drink and live entertainment. great to see so many families enjoying this space. Mount Tambourine - gallery walk is worth the drive, as is the scenery. The tree walk at Mt Tambourine was very relaxing and such a beautiful area. The outback spectacular is a must see, the food alone was exceptional, but coupled with the show - it is well worth it. Australia Zoo is another must see attraction, it is an immense area that takes a full day to enjoy - take your walking shoes, waterbottle and hat. The animals are well cared for in beautifully constructed areas, with, staff that are approachable, knowledgeable and well trained to care for the animals. Suncorp Stadium is another place that is well worth a view, especially if you are interested in event that is happening.

Brisbane is a bustling city, with lots of options to entertain yourself. We did use public transport to broaden our view of the city and was pleasantly surprised how clean the city and its amenities were. The entertainment precinct was great, and lots of entertainment on offer. The ferry trip with the Citycat was an excellent way to see the town centre from start to finish, and well recommended. The park next to Queensland University was excellent, and great amount of history with the government house, and awesome bridge back towards South Bank and several museums. For quiet drinks and great food, Fish Lane with outdoor bar, and excellent Julius Italian restaurant.

Location, location, location. We could walk everywhere in the city from Central Station 20mins, to QPAC in Southbank for a show 40mins and round the Brisbane River for exercise 7km in 1.5hour. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Great view of the river from our room. Bed was very comfortable, large bathroom, nice amenities, towels and linens. Pool was heated as was the spa. Nice size gym and great sauna - none of it crowded or to busy yet the hotel was very busy with Riverfire, Whisky event and a wedding.

The location was perfect, surrounded by different restaurants, not far from the airport and the city or Fortitude Valley. Perfect place to chill. The pool area was fantastic. The location was great. 5 minute walk to free ferry. Quiet spot but close to city. Parking was also cheaper than cbd apartments. We had a one bedroom unit at the back of the complex that overlooked the pool. The apartment was spacious with a large balcony. We booked this apartment because of the affordable price compared to the city. It was a quick walk to the river to view the fireworks display.

The location was very good, with Southbank, South Brisbane, West End and the city with easy walking distance. There was a very good cafe across the road (and a worthwhile one downstairs) and good restaurants nearby. On-site parking was desirable and there were several supermarkets within a few minute’s walk. The A/C worked and the in-room laundry appreciated. The apartments are relatively new, which made it more tolerable.
