More Than Just a London Suburb
Ilford benefits from a train station on the fast line between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. Since Stratford, site of the Olympic Park, is only a few stations away, Ilford rose in international popularity during the build-up to the 2012 Games. However, location isn't all it has going for it.
The Borough of Redbridge is run from its Grade II-listed Victorian town hall, on a pedestrian precinct which includes the Ilford Exchange shopping centre. To the west is another Grade II-listed building: the 12th-century Hospital Chapel of St Mary and St Thomas of Canterbury.
The UK’s only complete mammoth skull was found underneath the high street and is now displayed in London’s Natural History Museum. Redbridge Museum houses more archaeological finds, and the 17th-century Valentines Mansion features a Victorian kitchen and beautiful gardens.
Actually outside of the capital when built, the mansion is now firmly within Greater London and is surrounded by Valentines Park with its boating lake and cricket pitch where Essex County once played.
The diverse cuisine of Ilford’s restaurants reflects its multicultural population, and there are also several good bars and a club near Gants Hill Tube station that is popular with reality TV stars. Nearby Ilford accommodation on Booking.com includes hotels with parking and cheap guest houses.

A vibrant asian neighbourhood, streets bustling with people, loads of eateries to try out, specially the Indian and other asian cuisines. Well connected through Elizabeth line and a good bus transport network. Really loved the place and would definitely plan to visit again soon.

As a black person I felt comfortable among the Asian population and I saw other persons of color as well. The town is lively and friendly. The Turkish food was a blast. The shopping center has almost everything. For black women, there's a hair shop in the main shopping area. The prices are reasonable for London

My son and I went for a visit "back home" I'm a Londoner living in Yorkshire, the hotel was clean n the beds comfortable, although the room was extremely small, I ended up walking out of the bathroom and hitting my foot on the bed as it was so close, we did not use the wardrobe as there were hinges missing and the door came off when it was open, there was an awful smell when running the water in the sink, but as I say the rooms were spotless. In a good place for the Elizabeth line train into London.
- Right next to Goodmayes train station, very very easy to get into/out of Central London
- Okay place to stay if you need to be in the Ilford area
- It’s a no frills place with a little more character than booking into the local travelodge
- Reception staff was friendly and helpful
- Easy to get Ubers in the area
- Nothing particularly special about the property, I just needed a place to stay in for the night. Nonetheless, I would come back if I was in the area again.
I have been using Booking.com services for many years and this hotel fell too low regarding standards; moreover in a city like London. The staff lacked simple etiquette. Toilets were dirty, Rat infested property. The owner ran the facility alone, so poor management. Upon checking out, I could not get my £10 refundable deposit, because the owner was away and there was no cash, though I was made to pay the same by cash only when I did (no card payment allowed).
Cheap, clean, close to London.
Wifi and shower both worked.
Desk in room.
Price included breakfast .... which was an absolute bargain at about £26 a night !
It is cereal - delivered to your room, but grab a piece of fruit from supermarket up the road, have a cup of tea ... and makes a decent breakfast. Cereal options are cornflakes or wheetbix.
Fab Turkish restaurant up the road ... but you will need to book - really, really busy ! (Sultan).
The manager Jackie was outstanding in her treating me as a guest of the hotel. Jackie provided a very comfortable room, she gave me good suggestions where to visit, eat, transportation, and anything else I may have needed. Both Jackie and her partner Wayne are exceptionally friendly people who ensure any guest to their hotel has the best experience possible. I would recommend this hotel to all travelers coming to that area.
Nothing is nice about this hotel is in the middle of East London the shower water gets stuck which is discussing and nasty the stair case is not worth holding on to because it will come off bed is uncomfortable
The stuff don't wanna do what customer want
And they can't even kick out somone who makes to much noise and gets 3 warning they are just a typical bad hotels which pepole go there for only one thing which is s**
Rooms are spacious, great affordable alternative for the expensive London accomodation in Zone 1 and 2. It's just a 20 minutes trainride from Liverpool Street station on a Zone 1-4 travelcard plus a 10 minute walk from train station Ilford. Watecooker plus tea and coffee in the rooms. Wash and dry is available (please buy own detergent!) for a small fee of 5 Pounds. Kitchen is available for cooking.
We booked this hotel due to attending a wedding. We were 3 couples and all together we were 12 people.
Very good location of the hotel for a good price.
There is parking available but you can't reserve it.
The breakfast was superb, only the staff serving us could not handle a big family like us. She was just not humorous, but I still thanked her for the amazing service.
Amazing place to stay very spacious perfect location cheaper then a hotel for 5 people have a little issue with the shower came out straight away and fixed it would definitely be staying again now we found our place to stay for our London trip 10/10
The hotel was in a nice neighbourhood and the rooms were cosy, staff were exceptional and quite immediately obliged my request for the rooms in upper floors. Overall a good stay and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Ilford, London.
Excellent location, great choice of restaurants available in the area. The room was spacious, very clean, excellent facilities, clean bathroom with shower. Very courteous and smilling staff . Really satisfied with my stay .
It's a great place for stay. Room is big compared with other hotel in Lundon. I will prefer to come back the next time. However the wifi in my room seems to be not very well, the wifi in the bar is super good.
The staff we're very welcoming and the hotel was by far the best in Ilford
Cleaned everyday and nothing was too much trouble, would definitely stay again no noisey neighbours which helped get some good sleep.
It's situated at a 10 mins walking distance from the Ilford train station and a 15-20 mins train ride from London's Liverpool station. In general, the place is clean (except for some stains on the sofa).
Have stayed at this hotel when it was Premier Inn. Location is convenient as next to tube station and has car park. Outside Central London so cheeper. Clean and has friendly and helpful staff
The location of the hotel is easily accessible
Also, I want to commend one of their staff who attended to me rapt attention ( Mr. Alli). I want to say a big thank you)
