My wife and I recently had the pleasure of spending two unforgettable nights at Filao Beach Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by the incredible staff. One of the highlights of our stay was the special private dinner they prepared for us. It was a truly exquisite culinary experience, and the attention to detail was remarkable. The ambiance was heightened with a beautifully decorated room, adorned with candles, which created a romantic atmosphere that we will cherish forever. What truly stood out during our stay was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that every moment of our visit was perfect. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist with any request made us feel like cherished guests. Filao Beach Resort is a hidden gem that we fell in love with. The tranquil surroundings, pristine beach, and the overall serenity of the resort provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. We cannot recommend this place enough. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Filao Beach Resort for making our stay truly magical. We look forward to returning in the future and creating more beautiful memories at this exceptional destination.

The Paradise Beach Resort and Spa in Uroa is a self-contained area - ideal if you just want to stay somewhere that has everything you need. There are "external" excursions available if you do want to see outside the resort. At the time I went (May) it was not crowded at all, and the weather was superb - the rainy season had passed fortunately, and sun was present all day every day. Lovely private sandy beach, rooms are also good, and well looked after by the daily clean service, including an evening "mosquito" spray visit. Food was also good - nothing too elaborate, but adequate, and plenty of it. All in all a great place to stay.

    There is no restaurant.

There is no restaurant. The WIFI did not function, the tv did not function. There was no hot water. The staff didn't respond to any issues just laughed. They could not even provide a receipt. I was over charged and am still seeking a refund and they tried to take money on arrival having said they had taken funds in advance. There were people walking around with 14 inch knives on their belts. The hotel forced guests to wear irremovable wrist bands as if Alzheimer patients. The local beach is unpleasant, which is rare for Zanzibar, which is full with beautiful beaches. There were a group of women sat outside my window all day neither guest nor staff. If you risk booking please be advised that this is a remote location, if there is no scope to go elsewhere you will be compelled to stay. There are many other wonderful establishments on this island catering for all manner of needs and pockets.

Its about and hour and a half from Zanzibar city.

Its about and hour and a half from Zanzibar city. Nothing much around we found a local restaurant and a grocery about 20min driving from the place we stayed. You get very small local restaurants on the way and small local shops which we didn't stop and have look. People are friendly and helpful. Get your own alcohol from Zanzibar its cheaper. Don't carry alcohol from Tanzania to Zanzibar as its prohibited but you can buy it from Zanzibar. Unlike Paje where you get hotels bars restaurants shopping and activities, Uroa is very quiet and mainly has beach hotels.

The sea and the air in Uroa are just fantastic.

The sea and the air in Uroa are just fantastic. A small danger though - you can meet a jellyfish in the sea and get painfully stinged. A small walk away one can also find some local shops and some fruit sellers with ripe pineapples and watermelons.. ..and you can buy local sightseeing or dolphin watching trips either right at the hotel or just in beach. Cold drinks are available right at the hotel. So a wonderful place for just a relaxation.. ..if you want to often visit Zanzibar City shops, market, nightlife and sights, then it might be just a bit far. I would stay there any time again...

This is not a hotel, it's a house at the beach (!), run by a man that is manager, service personel and almost everything else (there are two maids that clean the rooms daily and cook the food). If you're looking for an AirBnB-like atmosphere, this place is recommendable yet expensive. Uroa beach is not recommendable as there are much nicer ones in Zanzibar.

I've booked room at this hotel and one day before my arrival I've got a message via Booking saying that, there is a renovation and the hotel is relocating me an another hotel "which is just a few km away". The few km means that, across the bay is about 3-4 km, but on road is more than 40 km...at a totally different location. Be careful with this hotel because even they said, there is a renovation, they still accepts booking to this facility. At least I could cancel my reservation free of charge...but this is the minimum.

Disclaimer! A 10 rating will probably never be had by me without paying a lot. So, i rate this a solid 7, which in my book, is good to really good. Hosts were fantastic. Zanzibar was not what i was expecting, and Kau, Shany and Pilly really made my time there more enjoyable. A/C! It's a must for northerners in the Zanzibar climate. Food on demand. Beds were hard. But, they were high-density foam of some sort. I liked the mattresses, but some may not.

Amazing, magical place with the most heart-warming staff you will ever meet. Clean and romantic room, exceptional food and the best saturday night party in Zanzibar! This is the place to relax and enjoy peaceful, romantic holiday. Prices were reasonable and the hotel took care of our transportation and blue safari etc. Would definately recommend. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the massage we got was the best we have ever experienced.

Pawel is a great host. He and his team are very welcoming and make you feel at home. The appartment was the best we stayed in on Sansibar and was very clean. Free drinking water is offered to reduce plastic waste, the chef is great and will even cook local food if you ask him. Our stay was perfect with the beach directly in front and the friendliest massai just in front of the hotel. I will come again for sure.

The hotel was beautiful. Both swimming pools were amazing. The buffet restaurant was great, food was good, with lots of options at every meal. The breakfast in the a la carte restaurant was great too but only went there once as the service was very slow. The staff was very friendly. I kept missing the hotel activities even though there were plenty of them. The rooms were confy, i liked how it was decorated.

Why staying at F-Zeen? There are a few reasons. The location is the best spot in Uroa-beach, no doubts. The compound is large and there is plenty of space between the bungalows, so that you feel easy and not cramped. The food is very nice. All in all there were not too many people in the F-Zeen, you can enjoy your rest and peace. The stuff was very helpful and friendly all the time.

Ali the reception manager was really professional. We had no request and idea what he could not have managed. He made our holiday memorable. The service of the staff of the restaurant (Eriely , setphano, chef manase, joshua) was also beyond our expectation. (Kambakocho restaurant). We had awesome massage treatments on 7 different days. We honestly offer this hotel for everyone.
